O R D E R

The petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to provide electricity connection to the petitioner's land for agricultural purposes by taking into account the application submitted by the petitioner's mother under Priority No. 120/2015-2016, based on the petitioner's representation dated 02.04.2026.

2. Heard Mr. R. Krishnamoorthy, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr. S. Deenadhayalan, learned counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. The petitioner is the son of late N. Subbulakshmi, who was the owner of the agricultural property in Survey No.127/2A, Periyapillai Valasai, Senkottai Taluk, Tenkasi District. During her lifetime, she had submitted an application before respondents 1 and 2 seeking free 2/5

electricity service connection under the agricultural category. Pending consideration of the said application, the petitioner's mother passed away. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 02.04.2026 requesting that the original priority be transferred to him by taking into consideration the application dated 13.04.2016 submitted by his deceased mother.

4. Mr. S. Deenadhayalan, learned counsel for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 02.04.2026 would be considered by the respondents on merits within the time frame fixed by this Court. The said submission is taken on record.

In view of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.04.2026 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law by taking into account the application submitted by the petitioner's mother under Priority No.120/2015-2016, based on the petitioner's representation dated 02.04.2026. 3/5

6. The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of six

(6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. There shall be no order as to costs.
