ORDER
The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.03.2020.
2. The petitioner entered in service in the year 1982 in the Treasury and Accounts Department as Junior Assistant and after several years, he retired from service on 31.03.2008 on superannuation and has been getting pension from 01.04.2008.
3. In this regard, the grievance of the petitioner is that, as per G.O.Ms.2(T) No.27 Finance (Treasury and Accounts II) dated 1/3
02.06.2006, certain exemptions were given from writing departmental test and if that exemption is applied to the petitioner, he could have been fixed higher pay from 01.04.2007, accordingly, his pensionary benefits would also get revised. In order to get the revised pension, after fixing the revised pay from 01.04.2007, the petitioner has given a representation on 12.03.2020 to the fourth respondent with a copy to the other respondents. Therefore, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that, if the said representation is directed to be considered on merits and in accordance with law by the respondents within a time frame and orders to that effect are passed, the petitioner would be satisfied.
4. Heard the learned Additional Government Pleader, who would submit that, the said representation of the petitioner dated 12.03.2020 would be considered by the respondents on merits and in accordance with law and orders would be passed within a time frame.
5. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for herein, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following direction:
"That the respondents are hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.03.2020 and pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order." 6.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
