This writ petition is filed for a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to appoint the writ petitioner as Anganvadi worker/organizer at Seenankudi Anganvadi Centre as per the earlier directions given by this Court in W.P. (MD)No.20158 of 2018.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the respondents called for applications for filling up of the post of Anganvadi Worker at Seenangudi Anganvadi Center and the petitioner applied for the same and an interview was conducted on 04.09.2017. However, after the interview the petitioner was not appointed eventhough the petitioner was an eligible candidate. Therefore, the petitioner earlier approached this Court by way of W.P.(MD)No.20158 of 2018 for a mandamus to direct the respondents 2 and 3 to appoint the petitioner as Anganvadi worker at Seenangudi Anganvadi Center on the basis of the interview held on 04.09.2017. In the said writ petition, it was represented on behalf of the respondents that one Amaravathi was actually appointed against the said vacancy. But however, after noticing certain defects in the appointment order issued to the said Amaravathi, the same was 2/5
cancelled and therefore, an order was passed holding that the post has to be filled up once again, the petitioner as well as other eligible candidates will be considered in accordance with law. Even thereafter, the case of the petitioner was not considered and therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate submits that the said exercise has not been carried on till date. The vacancy is existing as on date and therefore, all the persons including the petitioner, who originally applied for the said post will be considered in accordance with law within such time frame as may be directed by this Court.
4. In view thereof, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the following directions:
(i) The respondents shall consider the case of the petitioner and such other applicants, who were found to be eligible and who applied for the post of Anganvadi worker at Seenangudi Anganvadi Center and appeared for interview on 04.09.2017 and finalise the selection and in case, the petitioner is selected, appoint her in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order;
