O R D E R

This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police to delete the name of the petitioner in Crime No.17 of 2018 dated 20.02.2018, which was registered against the petitioner for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 324 and 506(2) of IPC and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937.

2. It is submitted that after completion of investigation, police have filed charge sheet excluding the name of the petitioner as accused. However, according to the petitioner, the name is still found in the website as accused in Crime No.17 of 2018, thereby, it has become impediment for him to appear any competitive examinations. It is submitted that he has applied for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS) for the post of Constable and Rifleman, and has qualified for Physical Efficiency Test also. Thereby, sought for deletion of his name in the website as accused in Crime No.17 of 2018.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that as per the directions of this Court, the name is deleted from the website as accused in Crime No.17 of 2018.

4. Since the purpose for which this petition is filed has already been fulfilled, the petition has become infructuous and therefore, this petition is closed.
