Heard both sides.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the revenue record reflected the name of his grandfather Pitchai prior to UDR. According to the petitioner, the title deed also stood in his name. Be that as it may, it the UDR, the names of one Vengattammal and Pappammal were retained and Pitchai's name got deleted. From the said Vengattammal and Pappammal, the lands were purchased by third parties. There has been more than one transaction. That is why, the District Revenue Officer declined to grant relief to the petitioner at this point of time.

3. It is well settled that a mere entry in the revenue record will not confer any title. It will neither create nor extinguish one's rights. Therefore, the petitioner is at liberty to move the jurisdictional civil Court for establishing his rights. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. The contentions of both the parties are left 3/5
