O R D E R

This petition is filed by the petitioner to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to give adequate police protection for the upcoming district level Silambam championship to be held in the petition mentioned venue on 26.04.2025 and 27.04.2025, based on the representation dated 19.04.2025.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that they decided to conduct Silambam competition to be held on 26.04.2025 to 27.04.2025 at K.Nataraja Pillai Memorial Madurai Pillaimar Sangam Higher Secondary School, Sampattipuram, Kalavasal, near Hotel Germaus, Madurai. To that effect, the petitioner sent a representation dated 19.04.2025 to the second respondent, but no action was taken. Hence, he filed this petition.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor (Crl.Side) for the respondents would submit that they received the representation of the petitioner and the same is under consideration. They will provide police protection in accordance with law.

Considering the prayer sought for in this petition and the second respondent also admitted the receipt of the representation and agreed to provide police protection, recording the same, this Court directs the second respondent to provide police protection to the abovesaid event in accordance with law.

5. With the abovesaid observation and direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
