O R D E R

The petitioner seeks issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to subdivide and issue separate patta to the petitioner. The petitioner has made an application on 02.04.2025.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader would submit that though the petitioner is entitled to subdivision and separate patta, UDR records require correction in respect of the wrong extent mentioned therein. Therefore, unless the said correction is carried out by the District Revenue Officer concerned, the Tahsildar will not be in a position to properly subdivide an issue separate patta to the petitioner.

4. In view of the said submission of the learned Special Government Pleader, the petitioner is directed to make an application before the District Revenue Officer, Madurai seeking correction of the extent of the property belonging to the petitioner effecting changes in the UDR, within a period of two 2/4

(2) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and the District Revenue Officer, Madurai shall consider the said application and pass orders, within a periodof four (4) weeks thereafter and subject to such corrections being carried out, the respondent shall take up petitioner's application, dated 02.04.2025 and pass final orders, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of order being passed by the District Revenue Officer, Madurai.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
