O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum to the petitioner for the belated payment of Leave salary from the date of retirement to the date of actual payment.

2. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is represented by both sides that the issue on hand is squarely covered by the decision of this Court in W.P.(MD)No.6243 of 2018, dated 26.04.2017.

4. In view of the aforesaid decision of this Court, the request of the petitioner made through the representation shall be considered by the respondent and 6% interest for the belated payment on the retiral benefits shall be calculated and paid to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that if the respondent has not paid the said amount, as directed above, within the time https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

stipulated, the said amount shall carry further interest of 18% per annum, from the expiry of the said eight weeks. 5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
