ORDER

The petitioners sought for quashing of the FIR registered for the alleged offences under Sections 420, 406, 417 and 120 (B) I.P.C.

2. The gist of the allegation is that the petitioners had conspired together and received a sum of Rs.48,72,821/- by deceiving the defacto complainant and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.

3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 23.04.2025.

4. The petitioners and the second respondent are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.R.Rajagopal, Special Sub Inspector of Police, DCB-I, Trichy District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

Considering the nature of the allegation, the relationship and the compromise between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 23.04.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioners shall jointly pay a cost of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) to the credit of the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Court and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
