... Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, direct the respondents to pay the entire service benefits with interest to the petitioner for the period of 31.12.1974 to 30.04.1985.

O R D E R

The relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to pay the entire service benefits with interest to the petitioner for the period of 31.12.1974 to 30.04.1985.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents made a submission that the petitioner deserted the services by not reporting to duty in the year 1984 itself. In other words, the petitioner left out the services in the year 1984 and thereafter, not reported for duty. The present Writ Petition has been filed after a lapse of 38 years seeking certain benefits.

3. This Court is of the considered opinion that the writ petition is highly belated and hit by latches. However, if any contribution of the petitioner is to be settled by the respondents, they are directed to verify the service records of the petitioner if it is available and if any dues are to be settled, the respondents are directed to take appropriate steps to redress the grievance in the manner known to law.

4. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(AD II) // True Copy // / /2022 Sub Assistant Registrar(CS) ssb
