Prayer in W.P.(MD)No.744 of 2019: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to permit the petitioner's son namely, Vasanth, for taking necessary treatment for his injuries and his un-functioned leg on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2019.

Prayer in W.P.(MD)No.745 of 2019: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to permit the petitioner's son namely, JD @ Dineshkumar, for taking necessary treatment for his injuries and his un-functioned leg on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2019.

Additional Public Prosecutor COMMON ORDER These two Writ Petitions are filed by two different persons on behalf of two different remand prisoners, seeking direction to the Prison authorities to provide medical treatment in Kumbakonam Government Hospital for the wound sustained by the remand prisoners at the time of their arrest and remand.

2.These matters are taken up for consideration after two years from the date of filing of these Writ Petitions. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor states that criminal case was registered against two remand prisoners and later, on completion of investigation, they were tried by the Mahila Court, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)Nos.744 and 745 of 2019 Thanjavur and both the accused were convicted for life and undergoing life sentence. Their appeals are pending before this Court and both are enjoying suspension of sentence. Regarding the treatment for the alleged injury, it is stated that they were provided adequate medical care in the prison as well as in the Government Hospital.

4.In view of the above said facts stated by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court is of the view that nothing survives for further adjudication in these Writ Petitions.
