The petitioners have sought for limited relief of issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioners' request, dated 30.07.2024 for issuance of free house site patta in respect of the petitioners' dwelling house comprised in Natham Survey No.46/2 in Puliyanthoppu Village, Thanjavur Taluk, Thanjavur District.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

3. The petitioner claiming to be in long possession and enjoyment of the subject lands, has sought for issuance of free house site patta. The petitioners' representation, dated 30.07.2024 is pending with the 2nd respondent.

4. Considering the above, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the 2nd respondent to enquire into the petitioners' representation, dated 30.07.2024 2/4

and pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair opportunity to the petitioners to establish their contentions regarding long possession and enjoyment of the subject lands.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
