O R D E R

The Petitioners herein seeks a direction to the respondents to issue patta for the lands in S.NO.677/2- 1 acre 10 cents to the first Petitioner and 677/5-46 cents respectively to the second Petitioner in Kidaripatti Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District by considering the application sent by the Petitioners, dated 30.4.2022.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.According to the Petitioners, they have been in possession and enjoyment of the abovementioned property for the past 50 years and they have no other property to earn their livelihood.Therefore based on their long possession, they submitted a representation before the first respondent on 30.04.2022 seeking assignment of the above said lands in their favour by recognizing their long possession. The said representation has not been considered so far. Hence the Petitioners have come forward with this Writ Petition. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader, who appears 2/5

for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that the representation submitted by the Petitioners will be considered on its own merits within the time stipulated by this Court.

5.In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the entitlement of the Petitioners to get assignment of the above said lands, this Court direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the Petitioners, dated 30.04.2022 and pass orders on its own merits after giving sufficient opportunity to the Petitioners, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
