Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to refund the Security Deposit amount deposited by the petitioner towards the Service Connection No.06/202-010-2546 obtained for the land situated at New Town Survey No.98/3 of Ward No.J, Block No.14 of Uyyakondan Thirumalai Village, Srirangam Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District, within the time frame as fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents/TANGEDCO.

2. The petitioner was originally enjoying the petition mentioned service connection. It was disconnected last year itself. The petitioner therefore seeks refund of the security deposit amount. Since it has not been done, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Today when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing counsel submitted that the petitioner can approach the second respondent on any working day and subject to the completion of certain formalities, the security deposit amount would be refunded.

4. I wanted to know, what are the documents which the petitioner will have to furnish. The learned Standing counsel gave a list of documents. They are as follows:- "1) Advance Stamp receipt with Two witnesses.

2) An Indemnity Bond executed by the consumer duly attested by the Notary Public.

3) An undertaking obtained from the consumer."

5. The petitioner's counsel states that the petitioner will go to the office of the second respondent on 09.10.2020 and complete the documentation. The second respondent is directed to effect the refund within a period of two weeks, thereafter.

6. This writ petition stands allowed on these terms. No costs.
