COMMON ORDER These Criminal Revision cases listed today under the caption for "Extension of time for trial Court".
2.In pursuance of the directions of this Court, the learned II Additional District Judge (CBI Cases), Madurai, submitted a report, dated 25.09.2025. A cursory perusal of the above report and the statements submitted by the said Court to this Registry would only reveal that the learned Judge has not reached the norms. In the earlier and present requisition, he has reiterated the same contentions that this Court has given direction for speedy disposal for some other cases and is having 56 cases, which are more than 5 years old cases and on that basis, sought for six months further time.
3. The learned Special Public Prosecutor appearing for CBI would submit that in C.C.No.7 of 2018, out of 11 witnesses, five witnesses came 2/3
to be examined; in C.C.No.8 of 2018 out of 25 witnesses, three witnesses came to be examined and in C.C.No.6 of 2018 one witness came to be examined and that the cases stand posted for examination of remaining witnesses. Even after the lapse of more than 1 1⁄2 years, since the direction, totally 9 witnesses were examined in all the three cases. This Court is not satisfied with the reasons canvassed for extension of time. However, this Court is inclined to grant further six months time.
4. Accordingly, the learned II Additional District Judge/Special Judge for CBI cases, Madurai, is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the cases within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
