: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue free patta for the house sites in Survey Nos. 211/1B and 211/2 in Paiyur Pillaivayal Village, Sivagangai Taluk and District to the petitioners.

The petitioners who are sanitary workers have moved this Court by way of this Writ Petition, seeking a direction to the respondents to issue free house site patta for the house sites in Survey No.211/1B & 211/2 in Paiyur Pillaivayal Village, Sivagangai Taluk and District.
2.Heard Mr.K.Navaneetharaja, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3.The grievance of the petitioners is that despite several written requests ranging from 13.07.2022 to 05.09.2022 [9 representations] made by the petitioners, seeking free house site pattas in terms of G.O.(3D)No.909 dated 01.12.1992, no action has been taken by the respondents. Hence, the petitioners are constrained to move this Court seeking a direction for issuance of free house site pattas.
4.However, learned Special Government Pleader would submit that already the subject matter of issuance of free house site pattas 3/6
for eligible Adi Dravidar persons have been considered in proceedings Na.Ka.No.A6/10800/2024 dated 25.02.2025 and the power has been vested with the District Collector, to conduct independent enquiry and pass final orders on the entitlement of the claims in the light of the recent development vide proceedings dated 25.02.2025.
5.The Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the District Collector, namely the third respondent, to enquire into the individual applications of the writ petitioners, give them a fair opportunity to ascertain their entitlement and thereafter, considering the merits and demerits of the petitioner's applications, shall pass final orders on the application of the respective petitioners for issuance of free house site pattas. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of four [4] months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
