PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to grant permission and to provide adequate police protection to conduct "Vadamadu Manjuvirattu" scheduled to be held on 26.05.2023 from 7 a.m., t 3 p.m., at Poonamgalapatti Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 25.04.2023 within the time stipulated by this Court. 3.This writ petition is filed seeking direction to the respondents to give permission to conduct Manjuvirattu at Poomangalapatti Village, Melur Taluk, which is not covered under G.O.Ms.No.12 of 2017, dated 21.01.2017, under which the places to conduct jallikatu was published. 4.Since the village is not covered under the said government order, the prayer sought for by the petitioner to conduct Manjuvirattu in the said village cannot be considered. Accordingly, this Writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
