ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents herein to grant permission and provide adequate protection for conducting Adal Padal programme on 07.05.2023 between 07.00 pm., to 10.00 pm., in pursuance to Arulmigu Sree Sooramahaliamman Temple festival conducted by the people of Adidravidartheru, Soorapallam Village, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District by considering the representations dated 26.04.2023 and 28.04.2023.

2.On the side of the petitioner, it is stated that the petitioner gave representation for permission to conduct Adal Padal on 07.05.2023 and the same is still pending on the file of the second respondent and he seeks permission to conduct Adal Padal on 07.05.2023. 2/4

3.Giving permission to conduct Adal Padal is the duty of the respondents and it is not the duty of this Court to grant permission. Hence, the respondents are directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 26.04.2023 and 28.04.2023 within a period of two days and to intimate the decision to the petitioner. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
