2. With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

3. Prayer in this writ petition reads as follows: "For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, it is therefore prayed that this Hon-ble Court may be pleased to issue a WRIT OF MANDAMUS directing the respondents to grant permission and to provide police protection to perform "Band Clarinet" during the "Chariot Procession" on 06.05.2023 between 1.00 p.m., to 5.00 p.m., in pursuant to Sri Dharmasamvarthaniambal Sri Panchanatheeswaraswami Aiyarappar Kovil 2/5

Sapthasthana Thiruvizha situated at Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 28.04.2023."

4. Since the programme is scheduled to be held on 06.05.2023, the respondents are directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 28.04.2023 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law on or before 05.05.2023.

5. The writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
