********** (Order of the Court was made by M.DHANDAPANI,J) Mr.D.Gandhiraj, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

2. With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

3. Prayer in this writ petition reads as follows: "For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit it is therefore prayed that this Hon-ble Court may be pleased to issue a WRIT OF MANDAMUS directing the respondents to grant permission and to provide police protection to perform "Band Clarinet" during the "Chariot Procession" on 09.05.2023 between 6.00 p.m., to 8.00 p.m., in pursuant to the 44th Chariot Procession of Punidha Arockiya Annai Church situated at Kuruvadipatti, Thanjavur District by 2/5

considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.04.2023. "

4. The learned Special Government Pleader would submit that if any application is filed by the petitioner to grant permission and to provide police protection to perform "Band Clarinet" during the "Chariot Procession", the same will be considered in the manner known to law.

5. Since the programme is scheduled to be held on 09.05.2023, the respondents are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders on or before 07.05.2023.

6. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
