ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed for alleged violation of order dated 04.03.2022 in W.P.(MD)No.3965 of 2022.

2. The operative portion of the order reads as follows. "3. This writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage without expressing any opinion on merits by directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 11.09.2021, which is said to have filed under Rule 12 of the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Wood Based Industries Rules, 2010, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."

3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent submits that the Appellate Authority has been constituted under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Wood Based Industries

Rules, 2010. He submits that Rule 12 of the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Wood Based Industries Rules, 2010 has been amended. Accordingly, the Deputy Director of Forest has been designated as the Appellate Authority. He also submits that the Appeal filed by the petitioner has already been forwarded. A copy of the communication has also been forwarded to the petitioner on 28.03.2023 and that the Appeal will be heard in due course by the Appellate Authority.

4. Recording the above submission, this Contempt Petition is closed. There shall be a direction to the Appellate Authority to dispose of the petitioner's Appeal as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 18.04.2023 NCC:Yes/No Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order mbi
