[Order of the Court was made by J.NISHA BANU, J.] By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
2.Challenging the Addendum Notification No.01-A/2025, dated 21.02.2025 issued by the 2nd respondent, this Writ Petition is filed with a consequential direction to declare that the eligibility criteria for the recruitment process must be determined strictly as per the original Notification No.01/2025, dated 24.01.2025.
3.It is the case of the petitioner that the 2nd respondent issued a Notification for recruitment of Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor (Pre-Law) in Government Law Colleges vide Notification No.01/2025, dated 24.01.2025. As per the said Notification, the eligibility criteria to be appointed as Associate Professor is that the candidates must have qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) or an accredited test.
4.After the Notification was issued, one Hariharan and Ishwarya filed W.P.(MD)Nos.4359 and 4360 of 2025 before this Court, seeking for a direction to the 2nd respondent to issue Addendum for the said Notification, enabling them to participate in the process of recruitment without the qualification of NET/SET/SLET till the certificate verification. The said writ petition was closed recording the submission that during the pendency of the writ petition, the Addendum dated 21.02.2025 has been issued, allowing the candidates, who have passed TNSET, 2024 also to appear for the written examination. Now, challenging the said Addendum, the petitioner has filed this writ petition. 5.
The petitioner, who is an Advocate, has filed this Public Interest Litigation, challenging the said Addendum issued by the second respondent and he is in no way aggrieved by the said Addendum. Hence, we are of the view that if any candidate is aggrieved, they can always approach the appropriate authority or the appropriate forum to redress their grievances. Therefore, the prayer made by the petitioner is devoid of merits and accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
