PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant ordinary leave for 30 days without escort to the detenue V.Verapathiran, son of Veerasamy, aged about 36 years, Convict No.21686, detained at Central Prison, Trichy. [Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.] Prayer in this writ petition is to direct the respondents to grant ordinary leave for thirty days, without escort, to the petitioner's brother, namely, V.Verapathiran, Convict No.21686, detained at Central Prison, Trichy.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the relief sought for by the petitioner has been acceded to and the convict has already been granted ordinary leave for 28 days with escort and to that effect he has also produced a copy of the order dated07.06.2024, passed by the second respondent, before this Court.

3. Recording the above submission, the writ petition stands closed. No costs.
