ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent Police, in 1/3

connection with a case in Crime No.14 of 2024, for the offence punishable under Sections 120(b), 406, 420, 468, 471, 294(b) and 506(i) IPC, has filed this petition seeking anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner and other accused have promised the defacto complainant that they will secure a job in the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and demanded a sum of Rs.40,00,000/-. On believing the same, the defacto complainant has paid the said amount to them. However, they have neither secured a job nor returned the money. Hence the case. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent Police submits that in this case, twenty eight persons have been cheated in the similar manner. The investigation agency has collected materials as against the petitioner showing that a sum of Rs.8,00,000/- has been received by the petitioner from the victims.

5.In reply, the learned Counsel for the petitioner claims that the petitioner has collected the amount on the assurance given by the Accused Nos.4 and 5 and also handed over the same to them.

6. Considering the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) and also considering the nature of offence committed by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant any relief to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
