PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner for appointment to the post of B.T.Assistant (Tamil) in pursuant to the one time chance given for the purpose of verification of certificates as informed through news paper published in Dinamalar daily on 10.03.2017 in the light of the fact that the petitioner cleared Teacher Eligibility Test, within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. The petitioner seeks for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner for appointment to the post of B.T.Assistant (Tamil) in pursuant to the one time chance given for the purpose of verification of certificates as informed through news paper published in Dinamalar daily on 10.03.2017 in the light of the fact that the petitioner cleared Teacher Eligibility Test, within a time frame.
2. The learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for all the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
3. At this stage of hearing, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.05.2017, is directed to be disposed of, by the respondents, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
5. In view of the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of this Writ Petition and in view of the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, the respondents are directed to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.05.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording sufficient opportunity to the petitioner as well as the other interested persons, if any.
6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
