Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 8 to permit the petitioner Sangamviduthi Village people (includes all community people) to conduct "Jallikattu Event" at 'Sri Nondi Muniyandavar Temple", Sangamviduthi, Pudukkottai District on 13.05.2023 in the name of Sangamviduthi Village by providing adequate police protection on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 03.05.2023 and consequently issue direction to the respondents 1 to 8 to forbear the ninth respondent or another person from conducting "Jallikattu Event" in the name of his communal group namely Rangiyar or any other communal name on 13.05.2023 or on only other dates of May 2023.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.
2. The petitioner represents the Villagers of Sangamviduthi Village. The petitioner feels aggrieved by the incorporation of the name "Rangiyar" in the entire process. That led to the filing of the present writ petition.
3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 8 submitted that a peace committee meeting was conducted and it was decided to conduct the event in the name of the villagers, without including the name "Rangiyar" or any other name. Hence, nothing survives for further adjudication in the present writ petition.
4. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
