O R D E R

The petitioner's husband Kalidas, S/o.Senthurapandi, C.P.No.19653 is serving life imprisonment in Central Prison, Coimbatore. While so, the petitioner's wife has given a representation dated 22.05.2017 to the Additional Director General of Prison seeking transfer of her husband from Central Prison, Coimbatore to Central Prison, Madurai, on the ground that she lives in Madurai and is unable to commute to Coimbatore for visiting her husband.

2. On instructions, the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the Prison Authorities have not received the

representation that is said to have been given by the petitioner. However, the petitioner's husband Kalidas himself is said to have given a representation dated 22.05.2017 for temporarily transferring him to Central Prison, Madurai, as he is facing three criminal cases in Madurai, Paramakudi and Kamuthi and that the said representation is under active consideration of the authorities.

3. Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the second respondent is directed to expeditiously pass orders on the representation dated 22.05.2017 given by Kalidas, on the basis of the report of the Probation Officer and the Superintendent of Central Prison, Coimbatore.

4. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
