Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the Contemnor/2nd Respondent for willful disobeying of the order and having committed contempt over the order dated 03.12.2025 in WP(MD). No.34941 of 2025 by this Court.

ORDER

This Court directed the petitioner to file an appeal in the format and thereafter, the respondent was directed to consider the appeal at the earliest. The contention of the petitioner is that the appeal was not considered for more than four months from the date of the order. When the Court has not stipulated any time and only directed the respondent to dispose the appeal as expeditiously as possible, this Court is of the considered opinion that contempt will not arise. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

2.Therefore, the contempt petition is dismissed. However, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent submitted that the appeal is taken on file and enquiry will be conducted. Therefore, the respondent is directed to complete the enquiry within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
