O R D E R

This petition is filed by the petitioner to direct the respondents to grant permission and adequate police protection for conducting public meeting at Karur 80 feet road, Karur district held on 05.05.2025 at 6.00 p.m. in the event of May Day by considering petitioner's representation dated 21.04.2025.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an active member of a political party. They decided to conduct public meeting to celebrate May Day on 05.05.2025 at 6.00 p.m at Karur 80 feet road. Therefore, he sent a representation on 21.04.2025, but the same has not been considered. Hence, he filed this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents would submit that in an earlier occasion, the party flags were erected in the center of the road and the same caused disturbance to the Page No. 2 of 5

general public. If the petitioner undertakes to conduct the meeting by following the conditions that may be imposed by the respondents, they will consider the representation of the petitioner.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner, by way of reply, undertakes that without any law and order issue and by following the conditions imposed by the respondents, they will conduct public meeting.

5. This Court heard both sides and perused the records.

6. According to the petitioner, he sent a representation to the respondents seeking permission to conduct public meeting, but the same has not been considered. According to the respondents, in an earlier occasion, they caused disturbances to the general public by erecting flag in the center of the road. However, the petitioner now undertakes to conduct meeting by following the conditions that may be imposed by the respondent.

7. Considering the prayer sought for in this petition, recording the abovesaid submissions, this Court directs the third respondent to consider Page No. 3 of 5

the representation of the petitioner and grant permission by imposing appropriate conditions in accordance with law. The petitioner, without any breach of the conditions, shall conduct the public meeting.

8. With the above said directions and observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
