55 Ares (1 Acre 35 cents), which was given as Assignment to the petitioner by the Assistant Commissioner, Land Reforms Urban Land Tax and Urban Ceiling, Madurai in the year of 1990 by considering petitioner's representations dated 13.01.2025 in accordance with law.

ORDER
The petitioner, claiming to be an assignee from the Government, pursuant to surplus lands being acquired from one Pasupathiammal, has made an application for cancellation of patta issued in the name of the private respondents 5 to 12. The said representation is pending with the third respondent, the Revenue Divisional Officer.
2. Without going into the entitlement of the petitioner to seek cancellation of the said patta, which has been issued on the strength of the registered documents, it would suffice to direct the third respondent to conduct an enquiry after affording fair opportunity to the petitioner as well as the private respondents 5 to 12 and thereafter, pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
3. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
