The petition has been filed, seeking to direct the respondents to accord permission and police protection to the Kazhari Urchavam Temple festival and Dramas Sri Valli Thirumanam & Veerapandiya Kattabomman to be conducted at Shri Maruthudaiyar Ayyanar Temple Kazhari Urchavam festival to be held from 09.06.2017 to 11.06.2017 at Maruthangudi, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District based on the petitioner's representation dated 24.04.2017 submitted before the Respondents.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the state. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Mr.A.Mayan, Special Sub-Inspector of Police, Kallikudi Police Station is present. On instructions, learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that a case in Crime No.150 of 2017 has been registered by the Kallikudi Police and the proceedings under Section 107 Cr.P.C. have been initiated by the Tahsildar. Learned Additional Government Pleader further submitted that after the 107 proceedings are completed, the police will take a stand as to whether permission can be granted as prayed for by the petitioner, taking into consideration the law and order issue, if any.
