Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus. directing the first respondent to give permission to conduct Manju Virattu on 14.06.2017 at Kirungakottai Village, Thiruppathur Taluk, Sivagangai District in commemoration of Puravi Eduppu Thiruvizha of Sri Kaliyuga Mei Ayyanar Thirukovil of the above village based on the proceedings of the second respondent in Na.Ka.Aa1/3482/2017 dated 11.05.2017.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission for conducting Manju Virattu in Kirungakottai Village, Thiruppathur Taluk, Sivagangai District, by way of issuing a Writ of Mandamus.

2.It is seen from the records that already a representation has been given, but the second respondent has sent a communication to the fifth respondent wherein it is stated that there must be a Gazette notification in respect of Village.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has fairly conceded that as per recent notification of Tamil Nadu, Village name need not be mentioned. 4.Further it is seen from the records that on 10.05.2017 a representation has been given and the same has not been considered. Under the said circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order.

5.In fine, this Writ Petition is allowed in part without costs and the first respondent is directed to look into the representation dated 10.05.2017 and dispose of the same within a period of two days.
