Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 3 and the learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 4 an 5.

2. What is under challenge is the decision taken in peace committee meeting. I have consistently held that such decisions have no statutory value. A person breaching the same cannot be visited with any 2/4

3 W.P.(MD)NO.11884 OF 2024 penal consequence. There is no provision of law under which the peace committee meeting is convened. The relief sought for cannot be granted. The petitioner has to necessarily establish his rights in the manner known to law.

3. With this liberty to the petitioner, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
