P RAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd Respondent to keep in abeyance of the Mid-Term Election will be held in the month of May for the post of Panchayat President for Avudyanoor Village Panchayat, Tenkasi Taluk, Tenkasi District till the disposal of the statutory Revision Petition Pending before the 1st Respondent filed by the petitioner which was against the order of removal of panchayat president for Avudyanoor Villae Panchayat, Tenkasi District Under Section 219 of Tamil Nadu Panchayat Act 1994 by considering the petitioner representation dated 07.04.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court. ORDER

The petitioner sought issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent to keep in abeyance the mid-term election to be held in the month of May for the post of Panchayat President for Avudyanoor Village Panchayat, Tenkasi Taluk, Tenkasi District, till the disposal of the statutory Revision Petition pending before the first respondent. 2/5

2.Today, Mr.K.S.Selvaganesan, learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, would submit that in the subject village, the President post has not been declared as vacant and therefore, nothing survives for consideration in the Writ Petition. 3.In the light of the above, no further orders are necessary in this Writ Petition. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader, the Writ Petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
