... Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to remove the encroachments in the water bodies such as

(1) the Aalangulam, (2) Beebikulam, (3) Armed Reserve Line Tank, (4) Katachanethal, (5) Vandiyur Big Tank, (6)Sellur Tank, (7) Thirupparankundram Tank and (8) Maadakkulam Mega Tank and their water channels and restore the same, based on petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2019.

Writ Petition (MD).No.9581 of 2019 learned counsel appearing for the second respondent. 2.The petitioner filed this writ petition praying for a direction upon the respondents to remove the encroachments in the water bodies such as (1) the Aalangulam, (2) Beebikulam, (3) Armed Reserve Line Tank, (4) Katachanethal, (5) Vandiyur Big Tank, (6) Sellur Tank, (7) Thirupparankundram Tank and (8) Maadakkulam Mega Tank and their water channels and restore the same, based on petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2019. 3.We find that the representation given by the petitioner dated 29.03.2019, is bereft of particulars. On such representation, we cannot issue any direction to the authorities. Needless to state that it is the duty of the authorities to protect the water bodies. 4.With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of giving liberty to the petitioner to file appropriate representation. If the same is done, the same shall be considered in accordance with law. No Costs.
