Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorari, calling for the records relating to the impugned order made by the third Respondent in 1/5

ORDER

The writ petition has been filed against the order of the third respondent, dated 15.09.2023 and to direct the respondent to cancel the excess house tax amount of Rs.25,396/- and transfer his name into the house tax.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has already filed an appeal against the impugned order before the tax appellate committee under Section 100 of the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act. Therefore, he submits that a direction may be issued to the tax appellate authority to dispose of the appeal as expeditiously as possible. 2/5

3. The copy of the appeal, dated 08.07.2024 has been submitted before this Court. The said appeal has been filed before the second respondent. The second respondent is directed to dispose of the appeal or place the same before the tax appellate committee within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
