The petitioner seeks the issuance of a corrected patta in respect of the property comprised in Survey Nos.371, 372 and 375 Thoranakkalpatti Village, Karur Taluk, Karur District, on the basis of the petitioner's representations dated 12.03.2021 and 20.04.2021.

2. It is stated that the lands in the aforesaid survey numbers are ancestral properties and that the petitioner and his sister Ammayakkal inherited the same. It is also stated that a compromise was entered into in A.S.No.80 of 1976 on the file of the Sub Court, Karur, and, in terms thereof, the petitioner is entitled to 2.57 1⁄2 acres in Survey No.375, whereas the patta issued to the petitioner reflects the extent as 0.99.00 Ares. Similarly, in respect of Survey No.371 and 372, the petitioner states that he is entitled to 2.08 acres, whereas the patta reflects the extent as 0.71.00 Ares. The present writ petition is filed for a direction to make necessary corrections in the patta.

3. Mr.R.Baskaran, learned counsel for the State, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and submits that the petitioner's representation would be considered and disposed of on merits.

Accordingly, without going into the merits of the matter, the respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.04.2021 with regard to the request for correction of the patta and dispose of the same by a reasoned order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, his sister Ammayakkal as well as any others who would be affected thereby. Such reasoned order shall be passed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. W.P.(MD).No.13563 of 2021 is disposed of on these terms without any order as to costs.
