When these writ petitions are taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the prayer sought for in these writ petitions has become infructuous, since the projects have been implemented. However, the larger issue with regard to the underground electrical cable has to be addressed. He has also brought to the notice of this Court to the earlier order of this Court dated 5/8
18.01.2021, wherein a direction was issued to the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras to file a report, however, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras is not a party to this writ petition. 2.In view of the above, the petitioner in WP.(MD)No.9772 of 2019 is at liberty to file a fresh writ petition with regard to the larger issue of underground cable by making the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras as party to the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petitions are dismissed as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
