This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to disburse the additional pay to the petitioner for holding Full Additional Charge (FAC) of the post of Superintendent of Prisons at Madurai and Palayamkottai during the periods from 29.12.2021 to 31.03.2023 and from 22.06.2023 to 27.11.2023, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 26.03.2026, within a time period to be stipulated by this Court.
2. Heard Mr.T.Aswin Raja Simman, learned counsel for the petitionerand Mr.S.Shaji Bino, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. With the consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is disposed of at the stage of admission itself. Page No. 2 of 5

The petitioner herein claims to have held Full Additional Charge of the post of Superintendent of Prisons at Madurai and Palayamkottai during the periods from 29.12.2021 to 31.03.2023 and from 22.06.2023 to 27.11.2023 and in the light of the same, he is entitled to certain pay and allowances. Hence, the petitioner claims to have submitted a representation dated 26.03.2026 seeking release of the said pay and allowances. However, no action has been taken on the said representation. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that if no orders have been passed on the said representation dated 26.03.2026, appropriate orders will be passed.
5. In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the second respondent to consider the representation dated 26.03.2026 submitted by the petitioner, in terms of G.O.(Ms) No.153, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (FRIV) Department, dated 05.12.2017, as expeditiously as possible, at any Page No. 3 of 5
rate, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
