PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent i.e., the District Collector, Ramanathapuram District, Ramanathapuram to dispose off the disciplinary action initiated in his Rc.A5/54585/2016 dated 21.11.2016 on merits and in accordance with law within a specified time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent i.e., the District Collector, Ramanathapuram District, Ramanathapuram to dispose off the disciplinary action initiated against the petitioner dated 21.11.2016 on merits and in accordance with law within a specified time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied, if a direction is issued to the respondent to pass final orders on the disciplinary action initiated against the petitioner within the time stipulated by this Court.

3.Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer that is now sought before this Court by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to pass the following direction:

3.a. The respondent is directed to pass final orders on disciplinary action initiated against the petitioner vide charge memo dated 21.11.2016 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
