O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to permit the petitioner conduct the Chithirai Pouranami Festival commencing form 12.05.2025 at Sri Ayyanar Temple situated in S.No. 138/9 at Thippanviduthi Revenue Village, Idayangadu, Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District and to provide adequate police protection by considering the petitioner's representation dated 18.04.2025 and in the light of the order in WP(MD).No. 10008 of 2024 and by an order dated 22.04.2024.

2.According to the petitioner, he sent a representation dated 18.04.2025 to the respondent police to permit the petitioner conduct the Chithirai Pouranami Festival form 12.05.2025 at Sri Ayyanar Temple situated in S.No. 138/9 at Thippanviduthi Revenue Village, Idayangadu, Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District and to provide adequate police protection in the light of the order in WP(MD).No. 10008 of 2024 and by 2/5

an order dated 22.04.2024, but the same has not been considered. Hence this petition.

3.Today when the matter is taken up for hearing, after elaborate argument both parties agreed that they will conduct festival as it was conducted during last year, based on the order of this Court in WP(MD).No. 10008 of 2024 dated 22.04.2024. In the said order, this Court has observed as follows:

"2.There is a dispute between the petitioner on the one hand and the fourth respondent on the other. Last year, the temple festival was conducted in the presence of Executive Officer. The methodology adopted last year shall be adopted this year also. It is specifically directed that no person shall be conferred fist honour. I make it clear that I have not gone into the rival claims. The direction given in this writ petition is only for celebration of the temple festival."

4.Recording the aforesaid submission, this Court is inclined to pass order in the above lines. Accordingly, this petition stands 3/5

disposed of. However the petitioner has included additional prayer to grant permission to conduct cultural programme. It can be decided by the 2nd respondent by imposing appropriate condition in accordance with law.
