Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the Petitioner's representation, dated 15.5.2017 and issue patta in the name of the Petitioner.

ORDER
The petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the Petitioner's representation, dated 15.5.2017 and issue patta in the name of the Petitioner. 2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.
3.By consent of both parties, the main Writ Petition is taken up for disposal, at the admission stage itself. 4.The case of the Petitioner is that he is the absolute owner of the property in S.No.438/2, measuring an extent of 7 Acres and 78 Cents in Mela Thattaparai Village, Tuticorin Taluk, Tuticorin District and he inherited the property from his mother. some of the lands of the Petitioner as surplus under the Land Ceiling Act.
5.It is the claim of the Petitioner that the land owned by him was not declared as surplus land and he was in possession and enjoyment of the same for the past 35 years and he made a representation on 15.05.2017 to issue patta in his name. Since no favourable orders has been passed, the present Writ Petition has been filed for the relief stated supra.
6.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the second respondent had already initiated proceedings based on the representation of the Petitioner and it is under consideration. 7.In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the Petitioner, dated 15.05.2017 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders on the same, after giving notice to the Petitioner and other interested parties, if any, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order 8.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
