PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents i.e., the Agricultural Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary to Government, Chennai and the Director of Agriculture, Chennai to take further action as per letter No.DCS2 (1)/3321/2008 dated 12.04.2017 regarding payment of pension and dispose off the petitioner's representation dated 08.04.2017 regarding disbursement of General Provident Fund and Encashment of Leave Salary within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents i.e., the Agricultural Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary to Government, Chennai and the Director of Agriculture, Chennai to take further action as per letter No.DCS2 (1)/3321/2008 dated 12.04.2017 regarding payment of pension and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

dispose off the petitioner's representation dated 08.04.2017 regarding disbursement of General Provident Fund and Encashment of Leave Salary within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is entitled to pensionary benefits and the second respondent has already issued a direction to the third respondent to send proposal by proceedings dated 12.04.2017. The limited request of the petitioner is to direct the third respondent to send the pension proposal and to sanction the pensionary benefits to the petitioner on merits within stipulated time by this Court.

4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer of the petitioner in this writ petition, the third respondent is directed to send the pension proposal within the period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and the second respondent is directed to finalise and pass appropriate orders regarding the sanction of pension to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the pension proposal from the third respondent.

5. With these above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
