O R D E R

The Petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to conclude the enquiry proceedings in Na.Ka.No.Ji/E-166053/2022, dated 5.12.2022 within the time stipulated by this Court and consequently to restore the patta in Petitioner's name.

2.Mr.A.Baskaran, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 4. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.According to the Petitioner, his father owned 70 cents of land in S.NO.38/17 situated at Elavankulam Village, Vadipatty Taluk, Madurai District.The Petitioner already sold 57 cents of land by way of registered sale deed, dated 17.8.1977 and now the Petitioner is in possession of remaining 13 cents of land in the above said survey number.The Property in possession of the Petitioner is wrongly classified as 'Natham' in UDR proceedings. 2/5

Hence the Petitioner submitted a representation before the second respondent seeking rectification of the UDR Accounts and restoration of patta in his name. Based on the above said representation, the second respondent has already initiated enquiry in his proceedins in Na.Ka.No.Ji/E-166053/2022, dated 5.12.2022. However, no final order has been passed so far and hence, the Petitioner has come forward with the present Writ Petition for the relief stated supra.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 4 would submit that the enquiry will be completed and final orders will be passed by the second respondent within the time limit stipulated by this Court. 5.In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by either side, this Court is inclined to direct the second respondent to complete the enquiry proceedings in Na.Ka.No.Ji/E-166053/2022, dated 5.12.2022 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of 8 weeks from the date of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
