ORDER

The petitioner seeks issuance of a joint patta in relation to the land bearing Survey No.2496/2 at Pannaipuram Village, Uthamapalayam Taluk, Theni District.

2. The petitioner states that the land in Survey No.2496/2 was purchased by the petitioner's father under a registered sale deed dated 20.09.1996. It is also stated that patta No.1848 was issued with regard to such property. The petitioner alleges that on account 1/3

of the confusion created in relation to an adjacent property, it appears that the revenue records in respect of this property have been mutated to reflect that it is assessed waste dry land. In these facts and circumstances, the petitioner made a representation and the petitioner relies upon the recommendation of the Thasildar on 24.12.2019 for issuance of patta in favour of the petitioner.

3. Mr.R.Baskaran, learned counsel for the State, accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents and submits that the representation may be considered and disposed of on merits.

4. Accordingly, without going into the merits of the matter, the third respondent herein is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.03.2021, by taking into account all material aspects, including the fourth respondent's recommendation dated 24.12.2019 and pass a reasoned order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and anyone else who would be affected by such decision. Such reasoned order shall be passed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. W.P.(MD).No.13616 of 2021 is disposed of on these terms without any order as to costs.
