ORDER
This Civil Revision Petition is filed seeking a direction to the learned District Munsif, Rent Controller, Madurai Taluk, to dispose of R.C.O.P.No.16 of 2018 pending on its file, within a stipulated time. 1/4
2. The revision petitioner is the landlord and the respondent herein is the tenant. The revision petitioner/landlord filed a rent control proceedings in R.C.O.P.No.16 of 2018 before the learned District Munsif (Rent Controller), Madurai, seeking a direction to the respondent/tenant to handover the vacant possession of the petition mentioned property for her own occupation. It is the grievance of the revision petitioner/landlord that the respondent/tenant, who is a practising Advocate, is protracting the rent control proceedings filed in R.C.O.P.No.16 of 2018 from the year 2018 and he has also not paid the rent so far. Therefore, this Civil Revision Petition is filed.
3. This Court perused the "B" diary extract of the District Munsif Court, Madurai, in R.C.O.P.No.16 of 2018.
4. In R.C.O.P.No.16 of 2018, the revision petitioner/landlord filed an interlocutory application in I.A.No.1 of 2020 seeking a direction to the respondent/tenant to deposit the arrears rent of 2/4
Rs.1,06,000/- for the period from September 2017 to October 2019 and to pay future rent continuously. The said application was filed in the month of November 2019 and the same was taken on file in the month of September 2020, however, the same is not yet disposed of by the trial Court.
5. Considering the fact that the rent control proceedings is being unnecessarily dragged on by the respondent/tenant, the learned District Munsif, Madurai, is directed to conclude the rent control proceedings within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, the Civil Revision Petition is disposed of. No costs.
