Heard Mr.V.Angusamy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.L.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking to quash the impugned order of the second respondent in C.No.D1/1313/2024 dated 22.05.2024 and consequently direct the first respondent to create 112 Supernumerary vacancies to the post of Sub Inspector of Police exclusively for the dependents of the servicing police personal and the wards/dependents of retired, deceased and medically invalidated police 2/5

personal in the recruitment to the post of Sub Inspector of Police, Tamil Nadu - 2019 and 2022.

3. Earlier, the petitioner had filed a writ petition in W.P. (MD)No.8938 of 2024 to create 112 Super Numerical posts of Sub Inspector of Police and this Court vide order dated 10.04.2024, directed the first respondent therein to consider the representation of the petitioner. Subsequently, on the representation of the petitioner, the Inspector General of Police / Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board [herein after referred as 'TNUSRB'] has passed an order informing that Super Numerical vacancies for ward quota is not possible at the end of TNUSRB, which is only a recruiting Agency. Even in the orders passed by this Court in the earlier writ petition, a direction has been given only to the Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, Home Department, Fort St.George, Chennai knowing pretty well that TNUSRB does not have any power to decide the issue. The writ petition itself is misconceived and is liable to be dismissed.

4. In view of the above stated reasons, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
