ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent Police to give Police protection to conduct Maha Kumbabishegam in temple situated at Sinnuluppai Village from 08.09.2018 to 10.09.2018.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the above said village has about fifty families and they have been conducted this festival for more than thirty years without any dispute. He further submitted that the villagers have arranged for Maha Kumbabishegam in the said Temple from 08.09.2018 to 10.09.2018, for which they require police protection in order to avoid the law and order problem.

3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent Police is willing to grant permission and provide police protection to the petitioner, by imposing certain conditions.

4.In this regard, the petitioner has already made a representation dated 13.08.2018 to the respondent. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent police is directed to consider the representation dated 13.08.2018 and provide police protection for the Maha Kumbabishegam which is to be held from 08.09.2018 to 10.09.2018. It is open to the respondent Police to impose any conditions in order to ensure that the Maha Kumbabishegam is conducted in a peaceful manner without giving raise to any law and order problem and the petitioner is bound to comply with the conditions.

5.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
