For Respondent : Mr.T.Senthilkumar Government Advocate (Crl.Side) PETITION FOR ANTICIPATORY BAIL Under Sec.438 of Cr.P.C PRAYER :- for Anticipatory Bail in Crime No.18 of 2021 on the file of the Respondent Police ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/A5, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 384, 420 409 and 506(i) I.P.C, in Crime No.18 of 2021 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.Today, the matter was listed under the caption 'For withdrawal' at the instance of the learned counsel for the petitioner.
3.The petitioner, who is the Inspector of Police has indulged in an offence of serious in nature that she extorted a sum of Rs.10/- lakhs from a common man. Based on the complaint, the case was registered. Apprehending arrest, the petitioner has moved an application for anticipatory bail before this Court. 4.Pending anticipatory bail petition, the petitioner was arrested and remanded to judicial custody. The respondent police has also collected the materials as against this petitioner. Subsequent to the arrest, this petitioner has filed a memo to withdraw this petition filed before this Court. CRL OP(MD). No.10333 of 2021 by an officer in uniform and considering the reputation of the institution where she work, this Court directed the Investigating Officer to furnish the details as to the investigation carried out by the Investigating Agency in this case.
5.In Pursuance of the direction, the Deputy Superintendent of Police is personally present before this Court and also submitted a detailed report on the investigation conducted so far. At the stage of investigation, this Court is not inclined to go into the matter. This Court is of the confident view that the Investigating Agency has conducted the investigation in a proper manner and preserved the confidence of the common man on the functioning of the institution. 6.With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
