ORDER

(This Petition was heard through the Video Conferencing) This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to grant electric service connection in punjai land in Survey No.630/2A3 of Perumbathur Village, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tenkasi District, based on the petitioner's fresh representation dated 17.09.2020.

2. Heard Mr.V.Muthuvelan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.M.Rajeswari, learned counsel for Mr.S.M.S.Johny Basha, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.

3. Mrs.M.Rajeswari, learned counsel for Mr.S.M.S.Johny Basha, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, on 1/3

instructions, would submit that the respondents are willing to grant electricity service connection to the petitioner on condition that the petitioner has to pay a sum of Rs.31,980/- (Rupees Thirty One Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty only) towards estimation cost.

4. Mr.V.Muthuvelan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner is willing to pay the said sum and he seeks two weeks time to make the said payment.

5. After recording the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, this Court directs the second respondent to grant electricity service connection to the petitioner for his punja land in Survey No.630/2A3 of Perumbathur Village, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tenkasi District, on condition that the petitioner pays a sum of Rs.31,980/- (Rupees Thirty One Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty only) towards estimation cost to the respondents within a period of fifteen days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such payment being made, the second respondent shall grant electricity service connection to the petitioner, within a period of one week thereafter.

6. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
